“Found” at Seymour Centre, Chippendale

3-4 November 2022

Knocking on doors and running away, screaming excitement in the wee hours over a televised soccer match, little girl running from big dog: these are just some of the hilarious stories from the lives of the young refugees from Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Congo and Iran. We all laugh at the same things. We connect.

Then Kerene tells us of her earliest memory of being carried on her grandmother’s back, running, running terrified through the jungle of Congo. Shaheer tells us of his agony watching people being shot at the airport in Kabul in August 2021. We share their pain and fear.

We are charmed, deeply moved and delighted as we accompany these 18 young refugees on stage at the Seymour Centre this November, sharing their lives with us. At last, we celebrate their triumph in the new lives they have found in Australia.

Come and share in the exuberance and joy of witnessing the triumph of the human spirit. November 3 and 4, 2022.

We will return to Casula Powerhouse in June 2023.
